It is Good to give thanks to God
Philippians 4: 6

Today we are going to look at a number of scriptures dealing with “thanksgiving or giving thanks” so we can understand the importance of this subject in the life of the believer. The independence day of our nation we pause for a while to give thanks. But for us Christian, everyday should be a day of giving thanks to God.  Phil. 4:6

Dito’y Sinasabi ng Holy Spirit sa pamamagitan ni apostol Pablo, “Let your request be made know to God with “Thanksgiving”. Similarly, many people make request to God, they pray and supplicate, begging for favors of God- but they leave out thanksgiving, so their prayers don’t work.

Phil. 4:6 says Do not be anxious about anything.” It says here, we’re not supposed to worry about anything, eh ano ang dapat natin gawin. The next part of the verse says “but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving present your request to God. Sinasabi po ditto sa lahat ng bagay maliit o malaking bagay sa ating buhay that we are tempted to worry about. We supposed to present our request to God with thanksgiving. Kaya even we obey God to cast our cares and anxieties over the Lord. (1 Peter 5:7) we can still miss it in our praying if we’re not mixing thanksgiving with it.

Psalms 100:4– Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.

We’re to turn loose of all and enter into His presence with thanksgiving and praise.

I can remember entering into God’s presence with thanksgiving and praise. I intended to go to him with a petition and request. As I praised God, natatapos po ako sa puro pasasalamat at pag pupuri sa Panginoon. I didn’t even turn in any of my request, because I got the answers while I was thanking God. I believed that’s why the Holy Spirit said in Philippians 4:6 “Mix thanksgiving with your praying.

Noong maliliit pa ang aking mga anak pag masama ang kanilang pakiramdam tawag sila sa akin and said Dad pray for me. I didn’t pray for the situation of my daughter that she was sick. Because He is who he says He is. He is the creator. He’s my Father. I thanked him for the privilege of prayer and thanked him that Jesus took my daughter’s infirmities and bare her sicknesses (Mat. 8:17

When I praised God the sickness of my daughter left. Kundi magpasalamat tayo sa Diyos sa situwasyon because it’s another opportunity to exercise faith and receive healing and blessing from Him.

God does not make our children sick - the devil does that (John 10:10). In fact, we can see in the Bible that Jesus was rebuking sicknesses. Well, God would not rebuke himself.

Psalms 50:14offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto the most High.

Psalms 95:2Let us come before his pence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms. God is pleased with our thanksgiving and praise. It is his will that we come before him with offering of thanksgiving. Another scripture in Psalms says, “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord  ….  (Ps. 150:6) so, that means all of us. Every thing that has breath includes every one of us. As long as we’re breathing that verse is talking about us.

Philippians 4:6 says that we’re supposed to pray or make request with thanksgiving. What are the results of praying with thanksgiving? Lets look at the next verse Philippians 4:7and the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and mind through Christ Jesus. Thanks God for his peace! When you pray with thanksgiving according to Phil.4:6 the peace of God will keep both your (spirit) heart and your emotion (your mind). Pansinin po natin na ang kapayapaan ito is not an unconditional promise, the condition to receive this peace are detailed in Phil. 4:6. so it means that you will not have peace in your heart and mind without first putting into practice verse 6 that says – Do not be anxious  about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving present your request to God. Lets look v7which passeth all understanding.” In other words, it’s a peace you can’t understand. Our intellect (Pag-iisip) can’t comprehend (maintindihan) that supernatural peace. But if we practiced the word. Let us pray and made your request know to God with thanksgving. And now his peace is permeating (lalaganap o tatagos) your heart and mind. Even in the midst of a test and trial, you can be full of joy, because you are not fretting or having any anxiety about it. You cast all your care over on the Lord and He is carrying your load. And you will be carefree! God is working on your problem – even while you’re asleep.

So go to sleep full of joy. Go to sleep every night and wake up every morning giving thanks and praise to God. You will be pleasing him and reaping great benefits as you do..
